Privacy policy
My Gaming Grid turns League of Legends player data into a dashboard of stats. We don’t have accounts or a database, and we only use information Riot Games makes available through its official API. This page explains what that means for you, whether you visit the site or someone looks up your Riot ID.
Who runs this site
My Gaming Grid is run by Pedro Geciauskas, based in Sweden. For anything about privacy, including the requests described below, contact privacy@morphgrid.io.
What we show about players
When someone looks up a Riot ID, we request this from the official Riot Games API:
- Account basics: Riot ID, the player’s anonymous Riot identifier (PUUID), summoner level and profile icon.
- Ranked standing: tier, division, LP, wins and losses in Ranked Solo/Duo and Flex.
- Champion mastery: points, level and when each champion was last played.
- The player’s most recent matches: champion, position, result, kills, deaths, assists, farm, damage, vision and similar match stats.
- Challenge progress: levels and how the player compares with others, such as the ARAM challenges.
Champion names and artwork come from Riot’s Data Dragon, which is the same for every player. From this data we calculate the stats on the page, such as win rate, favourite roles or playstyle. We only show the player who was looked up; other players in their matches are not shown.
Why we use it
We rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR): letting players explore and share stats from a game whose match data Riot makes available to approved developers. We limit the impact by fetching data only when someone opens a profile, not keeping it, not selling it, not building profiles of people over time, and keeping profile pages out of search engines.
What we keep, and for how long
- No database, no accounts. We don’t store profiles, search history or who looked up whom.
- Short-lived caches. To stay within Riot’s limits, API responses are cached on our server: the list of recent matches for 10 minutes, account, rank, mastery and challenge data for an hour, and each finished match for up to 7 days. Challenge level thresholds, which are the same for everyone, are kept for a day. After that they’re fetched fresh or discarded.
- Where. The site and these caches run on Vercel’s servers in the United States. Vercel takes part in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Visiting the site
- The site is hosted by Vercel, which processes your IP address and basic request information to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
- Champion artwork and profile icons load directly from Riot’s servers, so Riot can see your IP address when they load.
- We don’t use cookies, analytics or advertising. Players you recently viewed are remembered in your browser’s local storage only, and you can clear them with the “Clear” button.
Your choices
- Questions about your data. Contact privacy@morphgrid.io.
- At Riot. Riot’s own privacy settings and requests are handled by Riot Games; see Riot’s privacy notice.
Children
League of Legends accounts are for people old enough under Riot’s terms in their country. We don’t knowingly do anything beyond showing data from Riot’s API.
